The Rising Star, FNC Entertainment

In the Korean entertainment industry, numerous company was founded to allow the industry to grow and flousrish. Many famous companies like the YG Entertainment, SM Entertainment and JYP Entertainment are very influental and rich. As such, they can have artists (or idols) with very high quality self-composed songs or they can have a lot of singers with an average talent and experience. The smaller entertainment companies like FNC Entertainment, Jellyfish Entertainment or Cube Entertainment rarely have numerous artists but sometimes blessed with talented artists.

FNC Entertainment is my favourite as they were the one who formed the band FTISLAND. Since I first became a fan of FTISLAND, I made myself a supporter of the company as well. As time passed, they proved to be very good, having able to secure contracts with various renowned comedians like Yoo Jae Suk. It was then I bestowed the title Rising Star on the company. But behind their success, they seemingly try to have a grip on the band FTISLAND as they appear to be more rebellious than any other artists.

After FTISLAND's lead singer, Lee Hong Gi, renewed his contract (which he said involved deceiving him) last year, they enjoy a moment of freedom to create a K-rock album, which is the band's dreams. The songs reflect the band's talents within K-rock instead of K-pop. The first problem which I had highlight was with their next Korean album. One of FTISLAND newer song was titled Puppy. The company's lack of promotion for the song drawed ire and caused the imaged to the company to be greatly tarnished among the fans of Korean music. This was the reason of my first move aiming to correct the company from their error(s).

Last year too, one of the company's female solo singer known as Juniel made remarks about the company's lack of benefit for her. The company itself didn't make use of her talents to full extent as compared to FTISLAND, Juniel didn't have many Korean songs (or at least music videos) and she was clad in debts. She said her debts kept piling as a result of lack of jobs for her to do in the company. This hints that she may not have any income too as she wasn't given much to do within the company.

Later, Juniel released a new album music video titled Sorry. The song may or may not helped much to help her as earlier this year, she made the move to end her affiliation with the company by not renewing her contract. Few weeks later, she was reported to sign with a new company. My wish for her is that her talents will be used to it's full potential.

Now the question is, should the company be stripped of the title 'Rising Star' or be given another title to suit the newer events involving the company's inability to manage their older artists?
